Stanford proposed two core themes for its accreditation self-study.
Theme 1 - Advancing Undergraduate Education
Emerging from the Long-Range Vision (LRV), the university has re-imagined the future of undergraduate education at Stanford. The faculty senate has adopted proposals for a new first-year experience and reforms to the major. Our work for this theme focuses on Stanford’s tradition of reform and evaluation in undergraduate education and lays the groundwork for continuing assessment of how well we are preparing our students for lives of purpose and global citizenship.
Theme 2 - Supporting Our Community for Success
The second theme focuses on the university’s commitment to ensuring that all members of the Stanford community have access to resources, guidance, and support in their academic and professional growth, and further to ensure that the campus is fully inclusive in every aspect of its operations. Work for this theme will draw upon the IDEAL (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Access in a Learning Environment) initiative and other streams.
